EAGLE RIVER — The Black River Falls co-op girls hockey team extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-0 victory over Northland Pines at the Eagle River Sports Arena on Friday.
The Tigers (5-3-2) scored three goals in the second period to break open the game, and they finished it with a 54-5 advantage in shots.
Shelby King, a senior from Tomah, started the second-period scoring by converting a pass from Piper Mathison at the 3-minute, 48-second mark. Mathison, a freshman from Tomah, also assisted Tomah sophomore Camryn Steele on the next goal nearly 5 minutes later.
Brogan Baird, a sophomore from Sparta, scored the final goal with assists from Jordyn King and Marah Noth.
Chloe Noth, a freshman from Tomah, scored the Tiger’s first goal in the first period with assists from Baird and Jordan Berg. Alexa Moore posted the shutout in goal for Black River Falls.
Steele is now tied with Kaia Moore for the team lead with five goals.
