The Holmen High School girls wrestling team won an invitational, and its boys were runner-up at another on Saturday.
The Vikings wrestled to a team score of 177 to win a seven-team girls invitational hosted at Melrose-Mindoro and the boys team scored 223 to finish second in the 12-team Ellsworth Invitational.
Sophomore Aini Anderson (3-0) led the girls performances with a championship at 107 pounds. Anderson beat two of her opponents by pin and took care of the third by an 11-0 major decision.
Prairie du Chien had four individual champions and placed third with 103.5 points.
Rosalie Kossman (3-0, 100), Aspen Gelo (3-0, 120), Irelynd Cejka (4-0, 138) and Addyson Claycomb (3-0, 235) all won titles for the Blackhawks. Kossman and Claycomb pinned all three of their opponents, and Gelo had two pins and a technical fall.
Carissa Ceresa (2-1, 100), Allison Weiss (1-1, 120), Avalee Euler (3-1, 165) and Sophia Walter (2-1, 235) also placed second for the Vikings, who beat second-place Milton (108).
Payten Craig (2-1, 114) was second for G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro and Katherine McElhose (2-1, 152) second for Brookwood. Kalyce Sobotta (4-1, 138) third to lead Arcadia.
Royall Invitational
ELROY — West Salem/Bangor won the team championship with 219.5 points, and Aquinas sent all seven of its wrestlers to the finals to place third (157).
Teghan Moore sparked the Catbirds by following up a first-round bye with two pins for a championship at 106. Mason Chambers (150), Lucas Fry (165) and Caden Anderson (175) also won titles for West Salem/Bangor.
Landon Rieber (113) and Trevor Arentz (190) contributed runner-up finishes for the Catbirds.
The Blugolds received championship performances from Martez Sheard (120), Tyler Paulson (132), Roger Flege (138) and Chase Schams (285). Paulson and Schams won all of their matches via pin.
Ellsworth Invitational
ELSSWORTH — The Vikings, who host West Salem/Bangor in a dual meet Thursday, had five individual champions in the 60th installment of this event.
Nathan Henderson (4-0, 120), Turner Campbell (4-0, 132), Noah Henderson (4-0, 138), Collin Griffin (4-0, 157) and Jonathon Lamprich (4-0, 165) all won brackets for Holmen.
Campbell had two pins and a technical fall. Brock Needham (3-1) placed second at 126 after his championship opponent scored an 8-5 sudden victory, and Rex Lancaster (3-1) was third at 113.
Black River Falls Invitational
BLACK RIVER FALLS — Sparta tied for fifth place, and De Soto finished seventh in a meet won by Auburndale.
Devon Lietzau (6-0) won the 144-pound championship for Sparta and beat Pardeeville’s Kingston Galetka 5-4 in the title bout. He advanced there with a pin, a technical fall and a major decision. Teammate Landon Connelly placed second at 113.
Seth Greeno (4-0) claimed the championship for De Soto at 175 with two pins, a medical forfeit and a decision. Teammate Justin Obert (4-0) also won at 215 with two technical falls, a major decision and a championship win via tiebreaker.
Lukas Todd (132) and Maximus Todd (165) both placed second for Onalaska/Luther.
Johnson Creek Classic
JOHNSON CREEK — Tomah placed fifth out of seven teams with 130 points.
The Timberwolves were led by champions Blake Champlin (106), Grayson Steen (120) and Cameron Finch (150).
Finch had four pins and ended one match by technical fall, and Champlin had two pins and a technical fall.
Reedsburg Duals
REEDSBURG — The Logan/Central co-op beat Lancaster 43-36, Wisconsin Dells 66-6 and Madison East 54-22 during a 3-2 performance.
